Shopping online for real estate for sale in Tennessee may become more difficult
Shopping online for Real Estate in Tennessee may be tough and very limited to buyers looking to relocate the the Smokies or invest in mountain property for sale in the East Tennessee region.
The co-founder of the largest search engine online (Google) rips into Hollywood for trying to push through new legislation with the sole purpose of guarding the royalty interest of the movie industry. It is to stop movie piracy online. I see a pending ripple effect into several industries, including real estate that is greatly dependent on Internet advertising search engines.
If they restrict the Internet advertising and uploading guild lines so tightly it will make it nearly impossible for the average Realtor to upload their listings online to the search engines. Forget SEO on our websites; it will no longer benefit us. We will be sitting dead in the water and at the mercy of the "big players" in the Internet real estate marketing industry! I foresee their "membership" rates jumping by leaps and bounds because they know they would have us "smaller fish" over a barrel. We either pay the price to have our listings online or we are not online at all-or anywhere that anyone will be able to find us!
Close to 90% of real estate buyers begin their search online and if the government wants to govern and restrict what is online and how it is offered, well, it isn't hard to see what will happen. I'm sure the big players will make it through making it more expensive for Realtors to advertise online where the buyers are! I smell price gauging in the future!
Thanks again Washington! First the housing bubble popped (thanks initially and in large part to the government) now they're about to do it to us again! Way to push the housing recovery!
